Gingerbread Peppermint S’MORMON

Ingredients:

1. Gingerbread Cookies
2. Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark
3. Marshmallow Creme

Commentary:

This is an example of a recipe that was so good that I forgot to take a picture until after we had eaten them all. But this does provide a good illustration of how messy S’MORMONS can be. So, be careful and plan accordingly.

A variation on this S’MORMON can be made with a Peppermint Christmas Peep that comes dipped in dark chocolate. You’ll have to decide which recipe you prefer.

Chocolate Raspberry S’MORMON

chocolate_raspberry_smormon

Ingredients:

1. Mudcrack Cookies (i.e. Chocolate Crinkles)
2. Ghirardelli Dark & Raspberry Chocolate Square
3. Marshmallow Creme

Commentary:

Since my dad is a geologist, Mudcrack Cookies is my family’s name for Chocolate Crinkles. (If you think about it, Mudcrack Cookies does make for a more visually descriptive and inviting name than Chocolate Crinkles.) This recipe is as good as it sounds, however it could use a bit more raspberry. You might consider adding a drop of raspberry jam or maybe an actual raspberry (yes, they really do exist!).

Red Velvet S’MORMON

red_velvet_smormon

Ingredients:

1. Red Velvet White Chocolate Chip Cookies (recipe)
2. Marshmallow Creme

Commentary:

Rather than placing a piece of white chocolate between the cookies, we decided to place the white chocolate inside the cookies in the form of white chocolate chips. It turned out really tasty, but make sure you find the right balance between cookie and marshmallow creme — the image above is a little excessive in its marshmallow creme. You might also consider experimenting with adding a piece of white chocolate between the cookies. Again, it’s all about finding the right flavor balance.

Andes Mint Chocolate Chip S’MORMON

Ingredients:

1. Warm Chocolate Chip Cookies
2. Andes Mints
3. Marshmallow Creme

Commentary:

My friend, Greg, came up with the idea for this recipe, so I wanted to try it out. We used 2 Andes Mints for each S’MORMON and thought it had a good balance of flavor, but you’ll want to experiment a bit to see what amount of mint satisfies your taste buds.
